My Plan for “Living and Active” and the Grand Prize Package Info!!

Print Friendly

So if you all are sharing your goals and plans, then I figure I need to do the same, right? Remember, we are all at different places in life. Please don’t be discouraged by what I do (or don’t do!) for my workout. We each have different goals, desires and resources to get it done!

I am moving into a new season and schedule just as many of you are. I’m starting back up at teaching so that always adds a twist to my workout schedule. May take some tweaking over the next few weeks to figure out what I like and what rolls. (Actually, I expect it to change!)

♥♥♥

Monday: Back/Biceps: Teach an outdoor fitness challenge class*

Tuesday: 4 Mile Run : Teach pilates

Wednesday: Chest/Triceps/Shoulders : Teach outdoor fitness challenge class

Thursday: Lower Body : Teach Pilates

Friday: Off or fill in what I missed above :)

Saturday: Long Run (i.e. 6-12 miles)

Sunday: Off

*Includes sprints, hills, bodyweight exercises, drills and obstacle courses. Essentially, a running outdoor boot camp

♥♥♥

Eating: Similar to when I told you back in April. Nothing major, although now that the summer has ended and the cool weather has come, I can see myself getting a bit sloppier in what I’m eating. I’ve stopped the grazing and focused on eating fairly scheduled meals and snacks (within 2-3 hours of each other. I veer on 3-4 on some days depending on what my body is saying to me!)

Spiritually: I started a women’s Bible study this week. I am going to be diving into Beth Moore’s, “To Live is Christ: The life and ministry of Paul”. I’m so excited as I’ve been hit or miss with our women’s Bible studies over the past few years and I have to tell you that the times that I do them are some of the richest times spiritually in my life!

♥♥♥

Now onto what you REALLY want to know about…the GRAND PRIZE package!! Remember, to be entered for a chance to win you must check in with me each week (more on that in a few days) saying that you worked out at least 4 days that week and have your scripture memorized. Then I’ll be able to randomly choose from those who did just that!

Links to Prize Donors:

Michelle Dozois: (You remember that she is my fav workout instructor, right?)

Fitness Wholesale: I order ALL my equipment from them. They are fast and awesome to work with!

Michelle Myers: She may be a Star Diamond Coach for Beachbody, but this girl is much more than that! She has a heart for women and a love for God that is contagious!

Candace Cameron Bure: I’m sure most of you know her as DJ Tanner from Full House, but she is one rockin’ wife, mom and child of God! She wrote “Reshaping it all” (which many of you have told me that you have read and loved) and stars in many tv movies and shows. BTW…did you know she had an online magazine called Roomag? You should check it out because I’m also her senior co-editor over there!

I’ll see you back here Monday (or Sunday night if I get on top of it. haha) with your NEW verse/printable AND your FIRST check-in!

  1. I am currently in the middle of Beth Moore’s study of To Live is Christ: The Life and Ministry of Paul. It’s by far my favorite Bible study! I’m enjoying this challenge. Thanks!

  2. Following your workouts and memorizing the scripture of the week~ Love working my body and my spirit!

  3. I am loving this challenge. I am on Day 5 of the working out and memorized the scripture. Thank you so much for hosting this challenge. Love the prize package.!

  4. LOVE the prize package! I am so pumped! I am on day four of my workout this week and plan on day five tomorrow. I have this weeks scripture memorized. I love the body AND spirit focus! I am doing GMG, a Beth More Bible study at my church, and a ladies Bible Study one morning a week. I love being in the Word so much! Thank you so much for this challenge!

  5. I am exhausted just *reading* your plan – and when I’m *already* tired & oh-so-sore after completing three days of Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred (one after the other, didn’t start until Wednesday, will do day 4, maybe 5 over the weekend)!! … Loving the challenge to *actually* get back on track with my fitness … now just got to focus on getting the diet/food back inline :)
The prize package is fabulous! I do want to ask though, considering such a great package and all, what happens if the winner lives *outside* the US?…

    • Hi Larissa!
I get that comment a lot! haha

I don’t see why the prizes couldn’t be shipped to those outside of the US!! You all are eligible too!

      Clare

      • Thanks Clare … I’ve just been burned before at times :) Last time I won a beautiful doormat with a fabulous scriptural passage on it … but because I am not in the states, I was told that either I could send it to a friend in the states as a gift, pay for the postage myself (which was more than the doormat to begin with), or get it sent to a US friend and then get them to send it to me (which would have been even more than the website was quoting!!) As this wasn’t mentioned earlier I was quite peeved – especially as I was SUPER excited that I had one one of these gorgeous mats!! I ended up just forfeiting my prize and leaving it.

… NOT that I enter challenges like this for the prizes (the situation I described above was a giveaway), but it’s nice to know for future reference!

REALLY enjoying the push this challenge is giving me – and the spiritual connection on top of the workouts!!

  6. I’m so EXCITED!!!!!!!!! Found you on pinterest and loving your blog, this challenge and prize package! I’ve just reciently lost 60 lbs, started homeschooling my kindergartener, leading a womens Bible study/accountability group online and I have four kiddos {3 of my littles under 3}. I am super busy but would LOVE to incorperate your challenge into my new healthy lifestyle. Can’t wait to hear from you on Monday! Blessings -Janell

  7. That is my absolute favorite Beth Moore study!

  8. Thanks for sharing your goals…… I made it to the gym for 60 minutes all 5 days this week which was my fitness goals. God is good

  9. I’m in! love the idea of this challenge. =0)

  10. I’m on day three today. I WILL get in one more day tomorrow. I am currently memorizing the book of James with my kids. I hope that it is okay that I will be doing that for memoriztion instead of the ones you are assigning! Thanks for the tips and encouragement!

  11. Awesome prize pack… I am still sick, but I do have 3 days of workouts in… and I will hopefully get one more day in… I had a rough night, worse I have felt yet, but feeling a little better this morning, slowly reintroduce foods and liquids back into my system (nothing would stay down all yesterday night and evening), and so far its going well… maybe the end of this is in sight.

  12. I have been so encouraged this week by starting this challenge. For the first time in my weight loss journey, I have hope and and confidance that I CAN and I WILL do this! The group with sparkpeople.com is awesome! (If you haven’t joined it yet, you should!) I could give you a novel on how this is the perfect timing and what has made these past few days so incredible! But…I’ll save that for the next book I write. *smile*

    • LOVE Spark People…I just struggle so much with commitment and letting “life” get in my way!! So glad you are here…nice name :0)!

      • I love your name as well. *smile*

I’ve struggled with the commitment to do this so much. It’s been so hard. I’m just having to learn how to keep myself motivated. SparkPeople has been a great resource for me. It’s the only one so far that I’ve found that really seems to work for me.

  13. I am so excited about this challenge. I’ve got my 4 workouts in this week and plan to do another tomorrow! What a great prize package.

  14. I am also excited to be here. I almost did not sign up as I am having surgery on my hand on Monday—nothing major. Carpal Tunnel. I had my other hand done a few months ago so I am pretty sure, Lord willing, I can do simple walking for a few days next week and keep on track! Maybe I will eat HALF as much since I will only have ONE hand 0_0. JK! I need to lose 80 pounds. I lost about 50 and kept most of that off, but I am so SICK of my lame-o excuses! Looking forward to getting and keeping motivated!!!

  15. I love your passion for women, our heavenly Father, and staying healthy. Currently I am working out and spending time in the word. Your website encourages me to run the race with endurance. You are a blessing. I love the new ideas from your workouts!
    The prize looks amazing.
Thank you for being a great example.

  16. Just wanted to say that I am so thankful for this challenge. I am by myself alot at night due to my husbands job, and I normally just snack all night. But this has made me accountable and has kept me from snacking at all. I recieved some very bad news today and when I normally would eat out my emotions, I did my 4th workout for the week! I even ran 3 min. more than normal. Huge for me!!! So thankyou thankyou thankyou!

  17. Veronica Barnes says:

I am loving this challenge and I am already making better choices and moving more. I especially love the memory verse this week. You have a great prize package put together. I would love to win but the biggest prize will be achieving a closer walk with God and better health. Thanks so much!

  18. Week 1 down 3 days of strength and 4 days of cardio. 5 out of 7 were really good eating days! Steps are made!!

  19. Really enjoying this challenge, it’s just what I needed to jump start me into my fitness program. Also it is going hand in hand with a couple other challenges I’m on spiritually! Thank you!!!

  20. I have accomplished week 1! I did 4 days of walking for an hour, I have so missed walking it is truely my therapy and have not done it for a very long time. I also did 4 days of biggest loser workouts. I have been working this week on eating more fruits and veegies in my diet. I have also memorized the bible verse! I am so thankful for this challenge it has helped me refocus on taking care of myself.

  21. Jennifer K. says:

Love the prize package!! I’m doing great with this challenge so far but this is definitely great encouragement for when I’m just not feeling it!Thanks and I”m so happy I came across this website on Time-Warp Wife’s blog! God Bless!!!

  22. bible study starting at my house on mondays (i host, another lady teaches) and the focus of the book/study is “self-control” – food, exercise, money,…i just realized this weekend how awesome that God has placed both the bible study and the workout blog in my life at the same time. my working out is starting slowly, as my fibromyalgia has been pretty bad this week, but the encouragement of the prize package, honoring God,and comments from others helps a lot!

  23. Julia Sharit says:

I was active 5 days out of last week most days for 40 minutes but had a 20 minute day or two also. I am loving being active and working my way to getting fit. All it takes is a little effort and then in a couple of weeks you don’t feel right if you don’t get your active time in. Good luck everyone keep up the great work.

  24. Carolyn Chrisman says:

I have been using Beth Moore’s study on David in order to have a heart like his. It has been really nice to unpack the complex person of David.
For my workouts–i have been using the Couch to 5K website. However instead of doing the workouts only 3 days I a week, I do 4 or more.

  25. Hi Clare!! Ok so last week I did my workouts all last week started to incorporate running again. It’s that season to get back to running. I am also going to be adding a few more things to my workouts to see how that works out for me. My eating well, I still need help in this area. Do you know any good health meal plans. I’m trying the best that I can. I started also doing the Colossians study with GMG, and am going to be memorizing that verse. Thank you and God Bless you!

    • Hey Adrienne! As far as eating plans, there aren’t any that I follow and recommend, but more general rules. Eat lean protein, fill up on veggies, non-starchy carbs and then some whole grains and of course water. I do enjoy reading the Metabolic Effect (google them) and they have some great guidelines. Eating is so specific to each person as to what works for them so you really have to be patient and try a few things out! Go the library and sit in the cookbook or healthbook section and browse thru and see if any spark your interest. Keep up with me on fbook or twitter as I’ve been posting what I eat so that will probably help!
      Clare

  26. Thanks for this challenge and especially for the tips on how you plan your meals/eating. Those are great tips!
